About the Doha Institute

Doha Institute of Postgraduate Studies, founded in 2015, is an independent higher education institution based in Doha, Qatar.

Doha Institute offers internationally accredited master’s degree programs in two faculties: the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and the Faculty of Economics, Management, and Public Policy.

Institute adopts a multidisciplinary approach in which Arabic is the primary language of study and research, taking into account the requirement of fluency in English.

Specializations available at Doha Institute

Faculty of Social and Human Sciences:

The college’s thirteen programs; are philosophy, history, comparative literature, Arabic linguistics and lexicology, political science and international relations, sociology and anthropology, information and cultural studies, journalism, psychology, clinical psychology, social action, conflict and humanitarian management, critical security studies and human rights.

Faculty of Public Administration and Development Economics:

The Faculty offers Master’s Programmes in Public Administration (MPA), Master’s Degree in Public Policy (MPP), and Master’s Degree in Development Economics (MDE), as well as Executive Master in Public Administration (EMPA).

The College expanded its programs to include the dual executive master’s degree in public administration and business administration (MBA-EMPA), in partnership with the European Institute of Management and Technology in Berlin.

Ph.D. disciplines :

The essence of the course of Ph.D. studies at the Institute is consistent with its mission of producing knowledge in the social, human, and administrative sciences in Arabic as the main language, without losing sight of the role of other languages in achieving this goal.

course also aims to train generations of Qatari researchers, Arabs, and other students wishing to enroll in this course to enable them to pursue their studies or engage in the development of their communities in their different disciplines.

Rather, this course will bring out a group of in-depth researchers at the highest levels of scientific qualification in their disciplines, while enhancing the Institute’s capacity to contribute to the production of knowledge in Arabic.

This course is one of the deepest specialized fields of its kind in the Arabian Gulf region, in an institution that fully specializes itself in the teaching of social, humanitarian, and administrative sciences, thus giving specialization in the institution’s identity, academic character, and sources of research.

This character greatly enhances the Institute’s focus on graduate-level certification only, which distinguishes the Institute in the field of higher education in the Gulf region and the Arab world.

The Institute considers that the backbone of producing qualified graduates in their fields is navigation in those fields, and learning based on an in-depth study of the relevant subjects, while at the same time integrating this with a cross-disciplinary perspective.

This is achieved through carefully designed curricula so that the learning process does not occur in isolated disciplines, but crosses the boundaries between disciplines to establish a rich interdisciplinary and interrelated learning experience.

This deep interest in the quality of education is at the core of the Institute’s vision and mission in producing a group of the best qualified and distinguished graduates in the humanities, social, and administrative sciences.

No student may combine the scholarships of the Institute with any other scholarship whatever its source.

The Institute’s scholarships continue to be accessible only to students with good academic status. The Institute is entitled, following procedures to be determined, to withdraw scholarships from students who are in breach of this requirement.

The Institute’s scholarships do not benefit students enrolled in executive master’s programs, diplomas, or specialized degrees. They can benefit from external care grants according to the terms of each grant.
The Institute’s scholarships do not benefit students who have already benefited from the same scholarships in a period before studying in any of the programs of the Institute; Whether or not it culminates in a degree.
